Prior to the installation of your UVG hair, thoroughly wash your natural hair. Ensure your hair is well hydrated by following up with a moisturizing deep conditioner. Finally, choose a protective braiding pattern that your scalp may tolerate and that is complementary to the extension technique you will follow. Be careful NOT to overtighten in order to prevent hair loss.
We strongly suggest co-washing your UVG hair with a moisturizing conditioner before installing. Detangle your hair beginning from the ends. Rinse thoroughly with cold to lukewarm water, NEVER hot water. To maintain the hair pattern, avoid massaging when washing. Let your hair air dry and then install.
Note: To prevent frizz of curly textures, allow the hair to air dry or use a hair diffuser to dry the hair. To further prevent frizz, after hair is dry, separate curls with your fingers.
It’s important to keep your natural hair hydrated during your installation. When possible, be sure to apply moisture to your natural hair, daily. Tip: Use a spray bottle or an oil applicator bottle to reach hard-to-reach places.
For daily maintenance, avoid excessive use of products with sulfate. Sulfate can be very damaging to your hair, causing extreme drying of your investment. Avoid alcohol based products, as they also contribute to the drying of your hair. To extend the life of your hair, be sure to use minimal hair products and minimal heat when styling.
Wavy and Curly Collections:
Natural Look: Use a spray bottle of water. Dampen hair, detangle beginning from the ends with a wide tooth comb. Scrunch up hair gently to reform curls and let air dry or use a hair diffuser.
Wet Look: Use a spray bottle of water with leave in conditioner. Dampen hair, detangle with a wide tooth comb beginning from the ends and scrunch up hair gently to reform curls.
Wash or co-wash weekly using a sulfate-free shampoo or conditioner. Follow-up with a moisturizing or protein based deep conditioner. Use a spray bottle or oil applicator bottle to reach hard to reach places for this, as well.
Remember, extensions are a protective style—not a cover up! Love your hair and it will love you back.
To ensure longevity of your UVG hair, be sure to wash and condition your hair at least once a week or as needed.
